ADDIS ABABA, NOVEMBER 27, 2021 — In response to the United States Embassy in Addis repeated claim that security situation in Ethiopia is "deteriorating" and that Ethiopia is about to encounter a "terrorist attack", Taye Dendea, Ethiopia's Minister of Peace Building and National Reconciliation, said "huge damage has been caused by the repeated terrorist act of the [US] embassy. Thus the embassy has unequivocally proved itself to be a terrorist".
The outspoken Minister blamed the US Embassy in Addis for creating unwarranted fears in an attempt to block commercial mobility to and from Ethiopia. "US Embassy, Addis Ababa, posted one badly terrorizing false information four times in five days", he said.

"I think diplomacy has its own limits and protocols. Now enough is enough!" said Taye Dendea. "It is high time to say No! We don't want Ethiopia to be another Libya or Iraq! Dear US Embassy, kindly leave Ethiopia immediately, and gradually Africa", added the Minister of Peace Building and National Reconciliation.
The US Embassy in Addis had said that there was a possibility of a "terrorist attack in Ethiopia" even though the Ethiopian police said there is no imminent threat.
"Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting diplomatic
facilities, tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets/shopping
malls, western businesses, restaurants, resorts, local government
facilities and other public areas", said the US Embassy in Addis.
On November 25, Ethiopians gathered at the United States (US) Embassy in Addis Ababa to denounce the repeated unsubstantiated news being released by the US Embassy.
The Ethiopian government also warned the US Embassy to desist from spreading terrorizing messages. The government also said many embassies after initially giving in to the US fearmongering are now changing their minds.
